Hi guys!
Last night during a freezing trip in Utah, they both stopped working but the speedometer and rpm gauges are still functioning.
Any idea where that could come from?
Thanks!

Most likely a broken or stripped plastic gear in the speedometer. Real cold weather can make them crack pretty easy when they are that old. If you can still find one, a good speedometer shop can fix you up. However, they seem to be going extinct.

Thank you so much Rambozo for confirming. I saw another post talking about that plastic stuff. Any idea what's the name of that part?

It's not a part you could get from Honda.Kiter_biker wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 7:02 pm Thank you so much Rambozo for confirming. I saw another post talking about that plastic stuff. Any idea what's the name of that part?
The speedo shop would either make one or adapt one from another speedo.

I have noticed the 1977 GL1000 speedometer often has this issue. The gear that I have seen fail is made out of metal and the design of this gear is unique to the 1977 model.
