Gl1000, carb overhaul, one idle nozzle pointed inwards
Hello friends. I am in the middle of a carb rebuild using Randakk's kit and video. Mostly, it was going well until I discovered that, on one of the carbs, the idle nozzle orifice is pointed inwards. These nozzles are located right in the opening of the carb prior to the choke plates. According to the video, this is not uncommon and it does create an idle glitch. Also, according to the video, these nozzles are very difficult to remove and removal should be avoided. Does anybody have experience removing one of these nozzles?

You mean those miniscule pins sticking out into the carb opening? Sorry, no experience doing that. Have you asked Randakk's? They're usually quite helpful.

When I did mine, I found a couple of mine are pointed the wrong way. Mine are locked in solid and are never coming out. Runs fine the way they are, but it is mildly annoying that they arent right.
Dont worry about it. Good luck with the rebuild!

Thanks RedandWhite. After trying to turn the nozzle and slightly bending it, I stopped and like you, decided to leave it as is. The overhaul is done and carbs are working well. Thanks for the input.
