Re: Driving Lights Installed
Have you noticed if they tend to wash out your front blinkers when on? They seem a bit close. But I really like them, they look great. Where did you get them?
Re: Driving Lights Installed
I'll have to check out the effect of the driving lights on the blinkers. I have not given that much thought.
They are 3 1/2" Drag Specialties. Dennis Kirk is where to find them. I replaced the 55/60w H4 bulbs with 35/35w bulbs as I'm looking more to be seen rather than lighting up the pavement. Plus, it's a lighter load on the charging circuit.

Re: Driving Lights Installed
Remember you get more charging amps if you change out your rectifier and regulator or a later model Shindengen FH008EB Regulator/Rectifier which is a FET type. These are more efficient and no longer shunt current in the same way. I now use a Honda CBR600 unit from 2005 with this part number and it installs in the stock regulator location next to the battery using the same bracket and it is a wire for wire replacement (even the colors of the wires from my 1977 GL1000 were identical). Good for several more amps, if you need them. And my blinkers blink just a bit faster at idle now (13.8 idle volts now)
Re: Driving Lights Installed
I'm with ya, I installed the FH008 last fall.

Re: Driving Lights Installed
Hi, I also had to be aware of the capasity of the charging system, and I also have the same thought as you about to bee sen. So I replaced the H3 55W in my foglight wit H3 LED. Go to members picture an look at my LED and you will see how much light the LED gives.
You have a "dobbelt" bulp in your lamps but with a little modification you can use H3 instead.
