Hey Y'all, yesterday I got new tires on my bike and while I was installing the front tire, this clip fell out of the front right caliper. I cant seem to find where it goes in the caliper and when looking at the front left caliper, I don't see where it would go either. Is this a cruitcal clip or can I just ignore it? Im very novice when it come to breaks.
Thanks!

Re: Caliper Clip
i don't know what year you are working on, so i can't refer you to a specific partzilla (or other) parts diagram. furthermore, i don't know exactly what it's called, but it sits on a machined surface on the caliper mounting bracket. it serves 2 purposes ...1) it provides a smooth surface for your brake pads to slide along and 2) prevents the relatively rough surfaces of the brake pad backing and the caliper bracket from eating each other up. check the partzilla (or other) front brake caliper diagram for your specific year and you should find it.
p.s. there are 2 of them for each caliper ... upper and lower ... they are interchangeable.

Thanks for the info! I found the diagram I needed and was able to locate the spot where it needed to go.
