Hi All
I have a 78 GL1000 that I’m in the process of restoring. It has 54,000 miles, was running good when parked. Unfortunately PO let fuel tank rust.......
But my question now is,that since I have a lot of the bike disassembled, do you think it would need valves ground, maybe new valve guides? I’m just not familiar enough with what mileages these wings go without needing that kind of service. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I couldn’t find any specifics about this on the forum, but I’m sure it must be here someplace.

Not likely. Many would consider 54k barely broken in.

Thank you, Rambozo. It’s like the old saying, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
