Help Identifying Wheel Model

Post by Leveled »

Hi everyone,
The wheels on my 1979 GL1000 are not original ComStars. I'd like to replace them with OEM wheels but am having trouble figuring out which model to buy. Any info you can hook me up with will be appreciated. Here are a couple that I've found that say they're off a 1979 GL1000. The difference may only be the color but I'm not sure.

Thanks again for your help!

Rear 1 (looks like it's off the same bike as the front): https://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-Honda-Gol ... 3251011800

The Rear #2 you show is off an early (pre 1983 which are mag type wheels) 80's Gl1100 and does not match the front one from the 79 Gl1000. I have no clue if you can make it fit but I wouldn't be buying it if you are looking for OEM. If you are replacing and want matched wheels which I am sure you do go to a parts fiche (such as Partzilla etc.) and look up the part #'s. Many parts recyclers do not know or care what they list as fitments. IMHO you have to be very selective and particular when dealing on EBay

BTW you will be looking for a 1979 rear wheel part # 42650-431-780, The black rear wheel you shows looks to be part #42650-463-670

Thanks, Joneszy. It didn't even occur to me to look it up at Partzilla.
