Clean one carb ?

Post by Brendan65 »

I recently bought a wing that was sitting for a couple of years.
Replaced the gas and fuel filter, did a seafoam treatment and after lots of smoke got the motor to run fairly well.
But after about 20 minutes the #1 cylinder stopped firing. (It's getting spark)
I'm assuming :D that something reclogged (is that a word ?) in that carb.

I wonder if it's worth removing that particular intake runner and spraying as much as I can reach to try to clear it up ?
(Don't get me wrong .. a full carb rebuild is in the plans, but I'm currently in the process of moving, and most of my tools and shop area aren't accessible at the moment.)

Could be a clogged idle jet. You might try an “Italian tune-up” until you have a chance to clean/rebuild.

Another in situ option:

Good luck.

Tried both suggestions with no luck - that's OK, looking forward to the carb rebuild !
