My 1976 just will not run.
It has run. It coughs and splurts.
I've got good spark. New plugs. New airfilter.
I've got fresh petrol. Pumps good.
Previous owner told me it had good compression. (I will double check this) but I don't doubt him.
So that leaves carburetors.......
What do people think?
Best Rebuild kits available
And where to get them?

Re: 1976 carb rebuild.
Just a update.
I finally got the gl running a fortnight ago during a heatwave.
I took it for a run on the ring road.
But new fuel in.
Added some Redex.
And rode about 20miles.
The next day it started so much easier (still a hot day) and took it out to the Duel carriage way.
50 mile blast, at times near top speed (terrifying lol) got everything hot and moving.
This week temperatures have been lower 16*c in the evenings and it is now starting easily. Very happy.
I guess the moral is, don't start worrying about rebuilds and new carbs, too much if you can get it going. It may just need a blast. A big run seems to be able to fix quite a lot of running issues.

Re: 1976 carb rebuild.
I purchased a rebuild kit from Amazon for around $100. Did the trick for my 79 GL1000. That said, carb rebuilds are more than just putting in new parts. A good hydrostatic bath for the carbs is also a good idea.
