Hi again. I have removed a luggage rack and Krauser brackets from my '76 LTD and am attempting to mount my nice, shiny OEM grab rail, turn signals, etc. I think I have all the pieces/parts, but am a bit stumped about how it all goes together for some reason. I looked at the parts fiche and it diagrams the components, but doesn't give a good example of how it all fits together. I have Googled 'GL1000 grab rail images', but that wasn't much help. I get an idea, but the pics are usually of poor quality. Can anyone post some close-up pictures of the setup (actual mounting of the grab rail itself and the turn signals), from different angles? I would sure appreciate it.
TIA. Ron

Gorgeous bike and super video. For those of us attempting to restore old GL1000's, this video really helps to show just how the bike should be set up. Thank you.

UPDATE: The alert for the above reply reminded me (although admittedly quite late) that I needed to post a resolution. As it turned out, the rail that I got with the bike was not the proper one for my bike. No wonder I couldn't figure it out. Luckily I found a proper one from a local guy that was parting out a '76. He let me have it for $20.

The bike is now for sale on Craigslist:

Here is what the setup should look like.

I am in the process of rebuilding this 1975 GL1000. As you can see, it came without any grab rail or any way of attaching rear turn signals. As I am not concerned about maintaining a totally original bike, I would be interested in the luggage rack that you have removed. Is it available?
