suggestions needed for carb fix

Post by winguyjo »

while cleaning a set of gl1000 carbs i found that the "block-off plug" on the front side of carb #2 is missing. this is where the throttle shaft for carbs 2 and 4 ends.
looking for ideas on what to use to replace it. a dime is much too big and i don't have a lathe to trim one down neatly. could file one down i suppose ?

if you have a local auto shop that has been around awhile, they will have a drawer full of assorted welch plugs. put a coat of fingernail polish on the welch pug before you tap it in and it will seal better!
