Hi guys.
My 76 GL is running like a dream.
Even rewarded it with a wash! Lol.
But I've never had a key for the steering lock.
As far as I know the lock still works, but can I get a replacement key or do I have to replace the entire thing.?
How do I replace it and where do I get one?
Thanks.
Steering lock..... Missing key.

I assume yours is a UK model, in which case David Silver has a complete steering lock and key. You have to remove the brass rivet and washer holding the old lock in and replace it with a new one (David Silver again).W109driver wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 4:43 pm Hi guys.

If you can see a number on the old one, it's possible to get a key cut.

A decent locksmith!
We have one in Kent, called Express Keys and Lock Services (near Orpington).
If no luck local to you, I'd buy the Honda replacement from David Silver. It's dead easy to fit.

I replaced my steering lock as I did not have a key for it. I wish I had not bothered. If you have a good disc lock then, IMHO, that's what you should use.

I got rid of mine out of necessity, Dan - I had to replace the frame, due to terminal rust and the only one I could find was a USA one. The US bikes had the lock built into the ignition, which is much easier.GL1000K1dan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 4:01 pm I replaced my steering lock as I did not have a key for it.
