Once again I am bringing up this question. Has anyone managed to install rearsets on a GL1000? Specifically the right side linkage for the rear brake with the master in the stock location. Any photos would be great. Searching the net has not revealed the answer other than the Krakenhead Blueberry Bomber which is modified more than I care to do.
Thanks in advance

Randakk's has universal rearset kits. However, you will have to do some fabrication to install them. Not a bolt on and go solution, but they have all the bits you will need. The brake design will require extensive modifications, so I would advise you to get a replacement brake pedal to cut up so you can keep your stock one if you want to return to stock in the future.

Re: gl1000 rearsets
I already have the universal rearsets. shifter side is a piece of cake. What I am trying to achieve is to have brake and shifter on BOTH sets of pegs, so I can have two riding positions. I do not want to cut up the stock pedal, as I want it to function. {I do have a parts bike if I end up modifying it.}. I am hoping that someone has put rearsets on a GL1000 and can post some pics of the brake linkage they used. I am a multi licensed automotive, truck and coach, heavy equipment tech with over 40 years experience in repair and fabrication of vehicles having more than 3 wheels. Just having a hard time figuring this one out.

Ok, no problem. But you still probably want to mod your parts bike pedal. Just weld on a tab to connect the rod end from the rearset to the stock pedal. You might need an idler shaft and or a bellcrank to get the motion from the outside to the inside of the frame. Shouldn't be that hard to fabricate. I take it you have the rearsets pretty far back so the new brake and shifter clear the stock pegs with plenty of toe clearance? I haven't seen rearsets that retain the stock pegs as well, but no reason you couldn't do that. Lots of the forward control guys do something similar, just in the other direction.
