Clutch cable
Just replaced my clutch cable. Everything went fine and it works ok but the lever is stiffer now. Any ideas on why? I did the string thing to route it. No extra bends or anything that I can see.

Re: Clutch cable
The cap near the top can be used to stop it from slipping back so fast, is that too tight?

Re: Clutch cable
I'm not quite sure what you're talking about Fred. On one end I have the lever and adjuster then the other end has the adjustment with the nuts on it. There is a rubber cap kind of a deal that covers the nut end of it. I appreciate all the help here but just not sure. I took the bike for a short ride it works fine. Still won't go into neutral most of the time but otherwise it's fine.

Re: Clutch cable
Did you lubricate the cable before you put it in?

Re: Clutch cable
When I changed my clutch cable (years ago) I had to remove the clutch lever to get the cable on. When I relpaced it I noticed it was stiff. I loosened up the nyloc nut just a bit and that freed it up. You might try that. The nyloc nut held in that position and never became looser.
