Firing order

I am installing Dynatek coils on my 76 GL1000. Question: Does it matter which spark plug wire goes to which cylinder? Example: The coil that fires 1&4 - does it matter which one is 1 and 4?

The yellow wire goes to the right coil and the blue wire goes to the left. The left (blue) coil is for cylinders #3 and #4. The right (yellow) coil is for cylinders #1 and #2. Note: The front right cylinder is #1 and Left front is #2. The right rear is #3 and the rear left is #4. The coils have two outputs and it does not matter which one goes to the cylinder pair. You mentioned 1 and 4 but these two cylinders use different coils. This document may help you:
