I gotta 78 GL. are there any point sets anywhere ,are there any compatible. ford chevy anything? also how common is timing belt to skip a tooth ? when i got da bike i changed timing belts w/KN when i opened cover / inspected left belt was 1 tooth off got the new belts right , bike ran great . bike sat awhile, went to start ,NFG, it appears same happened , based on trying to reset points / @ 1 firing position on flywheel, points/ cam is like 30degrees off. it is supposed to line up @ same time as firing line on flywheel, correct? am i right in assuming i gotta check timing belts ?

You are better off using an electronic ignition.

When you check your belts, get your eyes at the same level as the marks so you can make absolutely sure they are properly aligned.
