76 GL1000

Post by Johnie »

New member here. Just got a 76 GL1000 with 15,000 miles not running and non-working rear Progressive air shocks which have been on there probably 40 years. The air lines are gone and I really don't know if it pays to try and fix them. Was thinking of getting some shocks that look more OEM. Saw some on the Goldwingparts.com site which look OEM, but not sure if I should go with a $100 shock as seems a bit cheap. I'm not an aggressive rider. Bike has original seat if that makes a difference. So I am looking for some guidance and really would appreciate you expertise. Thank you...

Hagon makes great shocks for older wings. They can do customs for whatever weight you need from solo naked bikes to two up full dressers.
I believe Progressive has stopped doing air shocks, but they have some repair kits still on the shelf.
