Lester Wheels

Post by Justmike »

I have been toying with getting a set of Lester wheels for my 78 GL1000.
My problem is that there seems to be a limited choice of tyre for the rear.
I ride quick so need decent tyres, and of course preferably a matched pair.
If I stick with the original comstars I will be fitting a pair of Michelin Road Classics, but if I were to change to the Lesters a front tyre of my choice will be simple, but what choices are there for the rear?
Being that it is only a 16 inch wheel it would seem that choices are very limited. Any suggestions out there from Lester users?

Mike

The Lester rims are wider than the original Comstars, the rear being 3" There are plenty of 16x 150/80 tyres available. That will require a bit of 'massaging' of the drive side swing arm and removing the rear wheel means the caliper has to come off too.
'Impossible' is just a level of difficulty! The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask first!

( Seriously, you haven't read all 115 pages of my http://www.wingovations.com website ?? )
