fluid capacities on 76 wings

Post by ajratt01 »

i have a 76 wing and love the bike. it is still pretty much stock, although i do plan on updating the ignition system to electronic this winter. the carbs have been done as well as a basic tune up and since riding this summer i have been able to establish that my mileage is around 30 to 35 mpg. i am curious if this is close to normal or not. i know the fuel gauge is off which leads to my second question of how many gallons of fuel these bikes hold? also i need to change oil and am not sure of how many quarts of oil and what type to use. alot of questions but this site has been alot of help so i thought i would ask. one last thing i have noticed also, it sounds as though i have some rocker noise on the left bank as sittng on the bike, is this normal? i've had the clearences checked and was not sure. thanks again for any help guys!!!!

I don't have a 76 manual, but the 75 manual says:

Fuel: 5.0 US Gal (0.8 remaining when needle is at E)
Oil: 3.7 US Quarts

Oil viscosity
