1978 Rear Brake Line (steel pipe) not available anywhere?

Post by goldwingingit »

Howdy,

I am rebuilding the entire rear brake system on a 78 GL1000 and cannot find this part:

PIPE, RR. BRAKE
43420-371-000

https://www.hondapartshouse.com/oempart ... r-cylinder

It's the metal line that connects the caliper to the master cylinder.

I have NEVER had good luck trying to bend and flare brake lines myself, I don't know why, but just never actually ends up working. I don't know what else to do other than replace what I have with this exact part but not even Randakk's has this part! I can't be the first person to ever have to deal with this, and it just seems like such a common part. Very unusual.

I can't reuse what I have because it is so badly seized. It's no good and needs to be replaced.

Any ideas?

Any good brake shop should be able to make one up for you, too.

I took an old one for them to copy, went to Greg’s distributors and they made me a couple new ones.
You will be able to find a shop that does flailing / gas lines and they can make you a brand new replacement
