Tires for a 76

Post by Thenewshooter »

I am trying to find both stock size/style tires for my 76. The front “looks” good even has the little spikes on it still. The back on the other hand is need of a replacement. Seems how it hasn’t been ridden in almost 30 years I plan on changing them both. The rims are the stock spoked ones. So I know they need to be tubed. Is there still anyone that makes a good set still? My local Honda dealer only came up with some that looked like a flat dirt bike tire. Not anything like what is on there now. The rear is a Dunlop Gold Seal Mark 2, and the front is a Challenger by Kendra.

Shinko makes two model sets that I like. The 712 and 230. I prefer the 230 style but both are great and inexpensive.

Thank you for the info! I was under the impression that the tires had to be tube type. Did not realize that we could use a tubeless with a tube. Seems like the parts guy at the Honda dealer would have said something.

The stock wheels require inner tubes. You are perfectly fine, however, running tubes with tubeless tires. Many have done so.
