New? OEM? (You 'll be lucky! Oh no you won't!)
New Alternative: Motad (stainless steel on my bike in the pic below) , Jama, Jardine
Big money? Try these: http://www.randakks.com/4-into-4%20Mega ... xhaust.htm

'Impossible' is just a level of difficulty! The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask first!

Re: GL1000 exhaust system
Any bolt on solution, either stock (most expensive) or aftermarket is well over $500. If you are handy (red green like) then stock headers with new 1-1/2 inch outlets as long as you like angled out about 10 degrees then adorned with sporster take off mufflers has a near stock sound. Folks who pay the big bucks for a new sporster must immediately customize the exhaust, so there is lots of sporster mufflers in the owners garage and on ebay. I got my pair shipped for $18, then ceramic coated my headers with the new outlets for $100.

Re: GL1000 exhaust system
What is not solid about your exhaust, the horseshoe muffler or the headers?
Headers can be repaired by welding on new outlets, no big deal for a muffler shop that welds to do that. First sandblast ot use electrolosis to get the rust off, then see the muffler shop welder. You need to decide if your horseshoe muffler is usable, as that will determine what size outlet pipes to weld on.
Personally, the only reason to use the stock muffler is to keep the bike stock, as they are plain steel and rust.
So tell us more, is this a stock restoration to later show or a great vintage Honda to ride?
