1977 Honda Goldwing Popping?
I have a 1977 Gl1000 and it is a great bike except for... When i start it up it pops and backfires, this continues untill i get going into decent speeds. Would this be the slow jet in one of the carbs? And also the other day i was driving down the road when the lights went dim and i slowly lost power i got a jump start and was able to make it home and charge the battery, why isnt it charging while i drive?

Sounds like a charging system problem. Both of the problems could be caused by a bad alternator

Does it run better while it is on the charger

Here is what I have done, I just cleaned the carbs and adjusted the fuel air mixture screws, and it doesn't pop as bad or as often.. But the battery still dies, we but a battery testor on the battery and while the engine is going it is receiving a charge, but when you turn the key off and take it out it starts to drain the battery what is this?
