WONT START!!!!!!
WONT START!!!!!!
I have a 75 gl1000. I ran it low on fuel and it clogged the carbs. I took them off and cleaned them out very good. it still dosent start. So I check the plugs and they have no fire so i changed the coils and fire is good now. It still wont start. Even when I put starter fluid in the cylinders it still dosnt turn over. Dose anyone have any suggestions?

Of course you checked the run switch? If it is spinning over a little slow, make sure the battery is fully charged, the load from the starter will drop the spark. Fuel filter clean?

Good spark, good compression and fuel mixture. All in the right order and amount is all that's needed to run a cylinder. Here's a print to verify the ignition system.

If it doesn't fire on starting fluid then no spark, or wrong time.Something happened to your spark or timing .I would tend to think somehow in the area you worked maybe a wire off,or plug wires on wrong plugs, etc.

You said it doesn't turn over. Do you mean it doesn't turn over or it turns over but doesn't start? Big difference in how you approach the problem.

That's easy enough to fix, and thankfully not something more serious. Have a great Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year.
