Rebuild my carbs?
Rebuild my carbs?
I have a 1975 Honda Goldwing and I need the carbs to be rebuilt. Does anyone know of a reputable mechanic? I'm located near Boston MA. I'd also be willing to mail the carbs.

If it were me, I'd go with one of the "Approved Carb Rebuilder" program guys on his list. When it comes to GL1000 carbs, you can't do better than what Randakk says.

WingAdmin gives darn good advice, could not say it better myself. Pistol Pete gets great reviews and it a pleasure to work with.

I'd recommend trying it yourself over the winter. I'm far from a mechanic and I bought Randakk's DVD and rebuild kit. I watched it all the way through first and took each step at time. It wasn't that difficult I put around 15 hours into it from start to finish. The engine performed like a dream afterwards and I got to know my bike more as well as respect the amount of engineering involved.

If it was me, I too would buy the Randakk DVD and rebuild kit. Cannot go wrong and most of us buy these vintage bikes because we like to wrench. You would learn a lot by rebuilding the carbs the using the Randakk DVD.

If you rebuild them yourself, let us know the route you took and how it went. You can always mail them to one of the experts if it doesn't work out.
