yellowing goes clear through I believe. But ... what will it hurt to try something, at the very least you can get a new one if it don't work.

My GL1000 had a yellow windshield when I got it. I got it clear again by using regular old Turtle wax. I kept applying it and buffing it off. It's still slightly tinted but nothing like it was when I got it!

When I had my 1200 several years back I had a similar problem.
As I was resigned to buying a new windshield .I decided to try to polish out the old one, knowing if I ruined it..so what...
I used POLISHING Compound --and BARE HANDS to polish the W/S...
using my BARE HAND I was able to FEEL the compund doing work and not apply too much pressure to the surface. Over about 4-5 applications the W/S started to get really nice and clear and smooth...
So I never did buy the NEW Windshield... ;)
But - I knew that I was risking doing it, and was OKAY with it if it happened...
Your results may vary...but if you gotta buy a new one anyway...Why not.. :?:

I did the same thing with my old GL1100 windshield. A few years ago, while "helping out" cleaning my bike, my daughter (not knowing any better) used a dirty towel to "clean" the windshield, scratching it to what I considered to be beyond repair. I replaced it with a Slipstreamer. I put the old windshield in a box, figuring I might find a use for it one day.

So, one day, I found it - after I had sold my 1100. I decided to do the same thing - try to polish the scratches out. No harm done if it doesn't work, I figured I'd just throw it out.

The thing is, it did work - so well, the thing looked virtually brand new. So I sold it. The new owner was very happy with it. :)
