Is it possible to save km/h instead of MPH?

Hej Guys.

My newly bought Goldwing GL1100 is fantastic! :D After I rebuild calipers and carbs it runs fantastic. I need to change belts as soon as i get them.

While i Wait for those belt to arrive I Found another thing thats bothering me, the speedometer is telling me MPH, but in europe km/h is the normal. I can change it with a push of a button, but if I could save the setting it would be lovely! ;)

It is a 1983 aspencade with digital speedo and tacho.

I would think it would be the same as the 1200, which unfortunately it cant be saved and requires punching the button after each start.

However, some years ago, I seem to remember reading on steve saunders web site, that there is way of making kph permanent but it involves modification to the electronics at the back of the dash.
