Rear shock bellows..??
With left bag out, replaced brake line, I saw that my shocks Rubber bellow was cracked. I had fixed a previous crack. My tire tube patch is holding for now,,but ,, ? From the attached pic you can see what I mean. The other side is fine, (I treated it with pure Glycerin over 2 yrs ago.) Does anyone have a suggestion about how I can deal with this problem.??

Bite the bullet and put a new one on? If it's old and hard enough that it's cracking like that, you're going to be chasing breaks and cracks all over it from this point forward.

Wingman,,That sounds hopeful. I tried to find the post you refer to. Being a dumb-cough, I was not able to find any reference to the post about boot replacement part from Orielly. Got any reference.?

This is the boot that fits the 1500 which is the only one I have read about there being a replacement for.. ??? not sure if it will fit your bike. Monroe Shock-Mate Boot Kit SA1997. It has to be cut to length and zip tied on.

Even it's not torn, that's still $17-$20 shipped for a 30 year old used piece of rubber. Honda still has them for $27velvetrider wrote:Just found a great site,,Cyclepysco. Out of Eugene, Oregon.. Dave answered email right away.

Re: Rear shock bellows..??
Hello from France, Happy new year to everybody.
As I maintain my GL1100 I had to change the rear shock bellows...but the quality was poor and they crack after 2 years
On other hand my job is ... bellows maker and we produce bellows in leather. So I made a pair for test on my bike and it is much more better. As you can see it is necessary to maintain it with a small plastic collar.
you can have a look to our website http://www.emilejanique.com
I propose to make a small serie for the members. Let me know if some are interested.
