having issues with my single carb
Used a VW 34-3 single carb. Bike runs but is fouling the plugs very quickly. I set the carb per DKL ( dude on steve saunders site) and she idles well but fouls plugs like crazy !!
Once the plugs are fouled, when i open up the throttle at highway speed , she stammers. no backfiring at all.
Is she running rich or maybe a possible vacuum leak but then it would run lean.
The plugs are sooty(dry) black.
If anyone has converted to the 34-3, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: having issues with my single carb
Update, the main jet size interestingly enough was too small. adjusted , and she runs amazing.

Re: having issues with my single carb
Yes, I will get pics sometime this week.i just ran some test runs , decreasing the main jet size each time. That was causing it to starve even more when I opened up the throttle. I went back to the size it came with and then went 1/2 size bigger, runs perfect now.

Re: having issues with my single carb
I'm running the same set up, it would be nice to know so I can compare notes.
I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!

I suspicion that 90% of our forum followers now only use a cellphone, I did NOT say a "smart phone" as those damn things keep screwing up my text AFTER I have approved the text, then click submit, and the "auto-correct" modifies my text...
I refuse to use a cell phone to surf the forums, I only use my laptop so that I can control exactly what is posted.
if it is wrong, it is my dyslectic fingers.
