Dilemma

Post by Sparky4017 »

I need your input I have a 83 Aspencade nice ride 3 months on getting her ready to ride 58000 miles.
I have done tires, brakes, rear master upgrade, timing belts, raditor filler neck relocation to the front, battery, fork seals and bushings and the list goes on. Paint is a little faded but still a nice ride
Now the Dilemma I found local a 84 Aspencade 1200 with 65000 miles stored inside paint very good
$1500. But it needs timing belts fork seals tires is it worth moving up a year I really didn't want to start over time I get it done may have more in it than it's worth. This is my 83

Get the asking price lowered, buy it, fix it up and keep 'em both!

Ok never mind I went and looked at it my 83 is a lot nicer than that he went up on the price to $2000 plus the tags is a year out. My guess on the tag 5 to 600$ so your in it for $2600 before you even start working on it.

Nice job on everything so far but it just hit me. The lower fairings, have three washers that go through each lower. Now two of the washers are the same length and one is longer and it goes in the lower hole. You save a lot on plastic-glue and crack repair this way. This is from hard knocks, you gotta be kidding me edition. Have a good ride...

I thought I put the washers back in 2 in the top 1 in the bottom on the radiator I'll check it Thanks about the only big things left are a valve adjustment and carb syncing it has a little flutter when you accelerate. If you roll it on it flutters if you accelerate hard doesn't do it my guess is syncing Thanks for the good comments. 8-)
