Sputtering engine

Post by mert1e »

1983 GL1100 Aspencade. Starts, idles and revs OK for a few seconds and then it starts to sputter and the digital dashboard goes crazy and flickers. Will not rev up at all, just sputters. All lights flicker. Battery is good. Any Ideas? Ron

OK............ what you are describing is a total electrical failure that is only occurring for very short time intervals. the first place i would look is the "dog bone" / main fuse by the starter solenoid. it could be corroded and cracking. you could jump it with a test lead to see if that corrects the problem. if that proves to be the problem there are several post here on changing it to a blade type fuse if you do not want to go with the original type of fuse.

Hi all. I'm having the same issue. I'm new to goldwings. I really don't know much about them. Where can I find this fuse?
