Front spring/steering bearing replacement

Post by bikrbob1 »

Hello guys , I am new to this site. About a year and a half ago I bought a GL 1100 and have been making upgrades, now I am at the point of wanting to replace the front springs and the steering head bearings. Do the forks need to come off to do this or can they be left in place?
The fork seals are in good shape I believe the previous owner replace them.

You'll need to remove the forks if you're going to replace the bearings, as the whole triple tree has to come out.

You can do the springs with the forks in the bike, but I find it easier to take them out.
