Ignition coils

Post by vaughn »

I am changing ignition coils my 83 Aspencade. Do I have to have ones specific to the 1100, or will ones for 1200 or 1500 work . I finally got mine removed. They didn't make it easy.

Pull the airbox, it makes it real easy.
Use Neon coils, cheap and easy.

I got a set of 1500 coils off of eBay.
A little smaller and a little shorter .
Just mounted them on the rear bolt.
Had to switch the screw caps on the wires. The 1500 ones are smaller.
I now have a spare one.
Bike pulls the hills and lugs in high gear better. So far so good.
I think the original ones were going bad. Lucky they just didn't quit. No fun pushing a 800 pound bike
