Added dipstick drain plug bolt size?

Post by ApplecoreR6 »

Hi, I own a GL1100 and I'm drain plug has an added brass fitting that allows for a dipstick which is very useful, it hit a curb and dented the bolt which I need to drain the oil because fuel got into the cylinder somehow, but I now need to drain the oil but need a new plug before draining, does anyone know what size this brass fitting is?
Thanks to all :)
The picture is old I replaced the filter cover, just need that bolt that is bent.

I went to NAPA and they gave me a 14mm x 1.5 and that was the size that fits directly into the case. As you can see in my picture the bolt is smaller than the 14mmx1.5

I would like to keep the dipstick because the little oil window on the right side of the bike is completely blacked out and I tried messing with that little screw to "wipe" to no success.

That looks like a Pipe thread plug.
Possibly 1/8 or 1/4 pipe thread.

Guessing an unknown thread from the photo is a challenge. Please excuse my question if it is so obvious that I fail to understand. May I ask, why you don't remove it for measurement?
