Two thumbs up on Silverstar headlight bulb!

Post by BRYuma43 »

Just a comment. I was wringing my hands about electical capacity and lighting needs on my new to me 83 Aspencade. I've got 55 watt driving lights that drain my voltage significantly. I HAD an old headlight bulb too so I was concerned about enough night lighting. I bought a Sylvania Silverstar bulb (actually 2 for $34 at Walmart). It puts out plenty of light so I'm not going to bother with the driving lights for now. At some point I may do a LED replacement to save amps, but for now, having a good headlight is good enough for me.

A good choice, and I used them in my '94SE

just be aware, that the extra brightness comes at a premium price.
The lifespan of that bulb is quite a bit shorter than the older halogen bulbs.

still, I stuck with the SuperStar because for me, it doubled how far down the road I could see.
