Need info on repairing this......

PO thought it was a good idea to mount car mirrors inside the fairing. What can possibly go right?
I'm thinking plastic putty and drywall mesh tape. Does the fairing come apart?

Read this "How To" to repair. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=690 . No the fairing doesn't come apart. You can access the underside of the hole by removing the fairing pocket cover and then the pocket.

If it was me, I think I might just cut to fit, a piece of 1/8 inch aluminum plate and attach it there to cover the entire triangular part of the fairing. Same on the other side to match. Quick, easy (relatively), guaranteed to be sturdy enough, and probably look like it belonged there.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

It never ceases to amaze me how much damage people can do to these motorcycles through ignorance and stupidity. What kind of hack would butcher your fairing like that to mount a stupid car mirror! My bike had a similar idiot previous owner who used a drill and jig saw to cut two speaker holes in my fairing. It looks like some animal chewed the holes out! I'm in the process of fixing mine too. I got a 1 foot square piece of ABS sheet from a local shop and am cutting 2 circles out to match the holes and glue them in with the ABS shavings and ABS cement slurry trick Wingadmin taught us.

He mounted them on both sides but I destroyed them when loading the bike into a moving truck. Can you give me the link for the ABS trick?

The article appeared many months ago somewhere on the forum and apparently has been touched on and reviewed several times. I'm not sure where the original information is but if you do a search here for "ABS repair" or "ABS slurry" in the search engine it brings up a lot of various topics that involve the repair mixture I'm talking about. The first person that replied to your original post was dingdong and he is right, go to the link he provided and you can see a great example of ABS repair. The other search results show lots of examples of how you make the ABS slurry too.
