A bit confused- Daymaker headlight

Post by ride dont hide » Mon Dec 25, 2017 10:58 am

After my "introduction" to a deer at 50 MPH I decided to buy a Daymaker headlight. The more I looked at them the more confused I am. Will any 7 inch round fit my 1983? I have a Vetter Windjammer and some fabrication can be done on my end. I have seen a few different styles and fitments for different year H.D.'s. Kinda scared to buy one of the knock-offs unless someone is running one now and swears they are just as good. Thank you in advance.

I have installed "knock off" Daymaker(3 years ago ,$165)and light is just fantastic. It did fit without any problem in a original head light frame.Today you can get them for around $80.You can choose from DOT SAE approved ,with power up to 40w low and high beem together (20+20)or not approved with up to 70-80w.My light is DOT-40w.
I hope this will be helpful.

Thanks tomos for the reply. I did find a Daymaker on E-Bay for 140.00 used. After A LOT of mods to the headlight shell (I am running a Vetter fairing on a Standard Wing) it did fit. Actually works after the install!
