1980 Interstate speedometer removal

Post by ssbn729 » Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:07 pm

I have a 1980 Interstate. Is there a step by step instructional video or are there pictures on a speedometer removal? Also can I rebuild the speedometer or do I have to hunt for a used one? How hard is it to change to a digital speedometer and tachometer? I realize many questions but any help would greatly be appreciated.

All you need to do is remove the 2 nuts on the back and disconnect the cable. Unplug the electrical wires or pop the light bulb out of the back.

There is nothing to rebuild in there.

Digital is doable but you need several more parts.

Thanks for the info. Where would I find the info on switching to digital speedometer and tachometer?

You would have to look at the Aspencade manual and figure out what parts would be needed to go digital. Then you would have to figure out how to do it.

Go to the top of this page and look at how to articles and manuals.
