Additional rear turn indicators, 1982 GL1100A

Post by Mikeybob007 » Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:47 am

I am planning to mount additional LED turn indicators under the trunk to either side of the taillight assembly on my bike. Can I splice into the appropriate wires to either side and leave the original luggage-lights functioning? Or is this an either/or situation? If I just spice in, will there be an amperage problem with the LEDs? Any help would be appreciated, I'm planning a road trip this summer into Jackson Hole/Teton country, and I would like to be a little more visible to the traffic I expect to see there. Thanks in advance.

You can just splice them in. LEDs don't draw enough amperage to matter.

If they are wired in parallel with the existing turn signals, you should have no problems.

Thanks. I was hoping this wasn't going to become one of those bottomless electronic add-on things, since this is a wish not a need.
