I won't give up
bought a custom 83 gl1100 that needs some tlc, not physically she's beautiful! but, I turned the key yesterday and now I can't get the ignition to turn out of park. any tricks?

Press the key in and gently turn it - see if it will turn back to the left or right - maybe squirt a bit of penetrating oil down beside the key might help as well.

no it is not, nice to see a fellow hoosier!!! but I am running into another problem, when I have the key on, and press the start button it just clicks, I can feel it through the solenoid and the starter without taking it apart

it is working now after I cleaned it where in our great state are you located

well Aussie Australia is a distance away but mayne we can ride together through film, I'll gladly photograph all the beautiful landscape across America for you if you will do it for me in return

Thanks - will see what I can do - I'm not much of a video taker or picture taker lol.
I should have taken a video of my most recent ride going up and back the Putty road in NSW... it's a nice ride but avoid weekends because of the squids..and there is a nice cafe stop in the middle of the ride at about 100km's from home - and they serve good coffee..
Here is a link to a video (not mine) to let you know what it is like - I'll even throw in a photo of me last year coming home on my 1988 Goldwing..I sold my goldwing and now have a Valkyrie...but the road is still the same. The video is jut one of hundreds of the putty road.
