Nasty spark plugs
Hey guys, I am getting ready to start my riding season. I go to start my bike after charging the battery, and the solenoid just clicks. 82 gl1100 fully charged battery, I take my plugs out thinking it is hydro locked and two plugs are passable, but two look like they been in a mud hole. The two bad are the left and right front. I'm including some pics, I'm about to crank without the plugs in, I'm just worried I have a lot of other issues by the looks of the plugs. What do you guys think? Sorry I've been away, a rear blowout at 85 mph has had me sidelined for a while. Thanks again guys Rick.

Re: Nasty spark plugs
Put new plugs in and run her for 100 miles..and look again..could be rust from moister in the cylinders, a little rich when last ridden??
If she only clicks with all the plugs out..other issues..shorter starter, bad battery/cell, bad solenoid..

Re: Nasty spark plugs
Hey guys, blew out an awful amount of rusty water from the right side of motor. Put in plugs and she fired right up, now I'm back to the problem I had before the accident, that is my starter not engaging but just spinning. One day it will crank fine, the next it doesn't want to engage at all. I guess it's time for a starter and I hate that, the starter I have is a Rick's 4 brush starter, used it maybe one year, brand new, thanks for all the advice guys! Rick..

Re: Nasty spark plugs
There is nothing wrong with your starter, it is the starter clutch that is spinning. Just put some seafoam or MMO in the oil get it started and ride it like you stole it a couple hundred miles then change the oil.

An awful lot of "Rusty water" - does not sound good for your motor.
Have you replaced the head gasket on that side recently - if so it may not be doing its job - you should re-inspect the head gasket and see if it needs to be replaced or discover why the cylinder had that amount of "rusty water" imho.
