1981 GL1100 Interstate - Grinding Noise on Clutch

Post by Ctm1969 »

Hi. I was about to finish the Restoration project of a 1981 GL1100 Interstate. I had many issues with the carbs but finally nailed it.

The issue that I am having now is a grinding noise coming from the right side around the clutch. This noise only comes up after 5 mins of warming up the bike and tends to reduce a bit at high rpm. I took the bike for a short spin and it does not interfere with shifting or so.

Any idea what could be the cause of the noise? It was not there before and I just change the oil.. same type of oil used before.. Valvoline 10w40.

Does it go away or change if you pull in the clutch? You didn't do that in the video.
