Cruising RPMs

Post by Paul_Oregon »

My son owns a 1981 GL1100 Standard and I took it for a spin today. I was noticing that at 55 MPH the RPMs were around 4200 which seemed kind of high. Is that typical for that year?

'02 GL1800 lives in Dawsonville, GA now.
My son is going to enjoy it for many years to come.

yep,

sure is, that is a high revving engine, note where the Red Line is.....

that engine will happily turn 5,000 rpm all day long and get almost 50 mpg doing it
