Speedo Down
Hey everyone. I've been away from the forums for a couple years because my bike was down and I was out of work. I just put the bike back on the road 3 weeks ago and yesterday I had my first big issue.
The Speedo, Odometer and Trip Meter have quit working so I have a 2 part question...
A- Is the sensor on the forks repairable and
B- Has anyone tried one of the aftermarket digital Speedo/Odometer/Tach systems from overseas?
Thanks for any input. Cheers.

Re: Speedo Down
There is someone here who rebuilt one with new electronic parts that worked. You could also use one from a GL1200, as they are electrically compatible.

Re: Speedo Down
Thanks again. I'm running right now with my GPS for monitoring my speed but I'd like everything working again.

Re: Speedo Down
So today I got my part from Joneszy. Thanks brother. Turns out the white plastic piece inside the gear assembly on the front shaft has the 2 tabs broke off. Anyone know where I can get another one?
TIA.
TIA.

Re: Speedo Down
Just was thinking that there is a guy in Owen Sound that I have dealt with on used Gl1100 parts. Fair prices and both times I just sent him a contact email and he was able to find what I needed including two horns from an 83 aspencade. Maybe he has the speedo drive mechanism from the front axle? He is at:

Re: Speedo Down
Know somebody who can "print" one?
"thingiverse.com" has one listed..search "goldwing"...
Just a option...I've never printed one so I don't know what material to use but there's plenty of info about it.

Re: Speedo Down
Yes. I checked out the printed one for an 84 but was curious if the 83 is the same size piece or not.

Thanks Joneszy for the info. The guy hooked me up with the part and it's heading out today.Joneszy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 1:36 pm Just was thinking that there is a guy in Owen Sound that I have dealt with on used Gl1100 parts.
