i have 3 ... 1 in good shape and obviously working because the bike runs well and everything works.
the other 2 have aluminum pieces missing from the inner sides and there is a sticky black goo in them.
i checked a parts diagram and couldn't find it anywhere.

Re: what is this ?
It's the part between the pulse coil and ignition coil.
The ignition module. One for each coil..The goo could be cleaned out and filled with epoxy.
I have a couple of them too.

Re: what is this ?
thanks, virgil.
i was thinking of glueing something there, but i also like the epoxy idea.
any recommendations as to what to use to remove the goo if i go that route ?

Re: what is this ?
Do not try to clean it up. Just fill it up with epoxy.

Re: what is this ?
Correct..don't try to remove all the goo.
Just enough to mix some epoxy and refill it level. The goo is just to keep vibration from breaking parts loose inside.
