Leaking gl1100 radiator

Post by chief771 »

Hi all! Just wondering if there are any suggestions to repair a leak in the radiator with out using stop leak. Anybody ever try jb weld to fix a pin hole? I have the radiator out and dont want to have to do that job over. Thank you in advance!!!

i'd take it to the local radiator shop and have them solder it up and leak test it.

I may end up doing that. I did a pressure test in my garage and I cant find a leak yet. Thank you for the reply!

My 83 Aspencade had a nasty crack in the top tank. Rather than trying to repair a 35 years old tank, I bought a new radiator from ebay seller chr_racing. It set me back $189 (free shipping!), but it was worth it. It's all aluminum with very nice TIG welds. I put in a new thermostat and hoses at the same time.
