Neutral Light

my neutral light comes on every time the clutch lever is pulled. The light also comes on when the transmission is in neutral like it should, i am confussed on what im looking for, i have read on here it may be the diode, i have read that it is in the harness , and have also read it plugs in which is it, i saw a picture of a diode that has 1 bolt and plugs with a 2 wire plug is that what im looking for?, also where can i buy a new diode, please help,

No info on the picture, but if that's a diode it should work. If starting the bike or the neutral light still doesn't work right when you connect the new diode, the connections are backward.

Not exactly sure where to find the diode, on my 1100 never had to look for it.

Up until last year the neutral switch was stuck and I could start the bike in gear without the clutch. I took the bulb out of the Neutral light because it was on all the time. :!: Neutral switch almost impossible to get to unless you remove the engine. Lately, though, if in gear the starter won't engage unless I pull the clutch, I think the switch started working. Maybe I'll put the bulb back to see..... :idea:

remove the false tank. the diode is wrapped up in tape on the inside left side (drivers) of the frame. had to change mine, forget where I ordered it in from.
man can't live on air alone!

Any old garden-variety diode will work, as long as rated for 25v or more, 1A or more. Doesn't have to be a "Motorcycle" diode :lol:
