Bolt size

Post by wlane » Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:00 am

I bought a 1981 Goldwing GL 1100 and the bolts that secure the seat and the gas tank cover are gone. Could anyone tell me the size of the bolts? I assume they are metric but circumference and length are needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sure,6x12 on the shelter uses 4 total. Seat bolts different story. They have special seat adjuster bolts. Now the hole size, take any bolt you have and get a close size fit to the hole. take that bolt and go to ace and match to metric. 1/2 inch long with a washer should be fine. But I do not see any pictures of said motorcycle. We like pictures. Most Honda dealers have a web site with parts diagrams and pictures of parts and part numbers. Best of luck with the invisi bike.

RMATV seems to have a good list of the OEM parts for the microfiche.

https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-schematic/3

If the above link doesn't work, just pick OEM parts, make year, model etc then catagory

This is there list for the seat microfiche.

Hope this helps
On many long journeys have I gone. And waited, too, for others to return from journeys of their own. Some return; some are broken; some come back so different only their names remain.

I have ridden my 1100 for years without the 4 bolts for the seat. The seat is going no where when riding.
I also use only the 2 back bolts to keep the false tank on.
