There is a sight glass on the right hand side of the motor - hands and knees job to see it clearly and the level. There is a small flat screw slot in the middle of the sight glass. Turn it clockwise with a screwdriver - it is a wiper of sorts for the sight glass, might let you see the level - also it should be on the centre stand to read properly.

cheers

Found the sight glass but wasn't sure what the screw was for. I'll try that "wiper". Thanks.

Personally I found the sight glass really difficult to see the level. Even with "wiping" the sight glass.

When I changed the oil, I could finally see when I refilled the oil to the correct level, and it is way too easy to overfill as well. I did buy an aftermarket dip stick kit - but never installed it, and sold it with the bike to the next owner. Unsure if they ever used it lol.

cheers

I find it easier to see if I take a picture with my phone. No knees involved.

"brilliant" idea ! :D
even down on your hands and knees, it can be tough to figure out what's going on if you have a dirty sight glass.
the flash of the camera provides the very thing you need most ... light.
