engine stall

Dear Forum,
Spring is finally here and have had the opportunity to ride my new-to-me GW1100 standard that I purchased as the 2018 season ended. Today, I took the bike for a spin after work and every thing worked flawless. As I arrive home and worked the steering left – right to fit the bike in my driveway (which I pretty small), the engine stalled and couldn’t been brought back to life. My initial guess is one of the connecters associated with the ignition coil, has become loos by the left – right working of the steering, but before I embark on disassembly I wonder if someone with more experience in GW1100 could direct me to where to begin!
Also, I wonder about the purpose of the device under the steering column that I have encircled with yellow. Any ideas?
Any ideas and suggestion are welcome 😊

Did you check the kill switch ??????

I second the kill switch, it's often overlooked. If not, you need to start with the basics - what is powered on, what is not powered on. Are all your fuses intact?

Oh, and the device circled in your picture is the turn signal canceller.
