Hi There
The gears on my GL1100 are grinding into gear when I shift through the gears, and also on downshifting.
I'm wondering what could be causing this.
I have checked the cable and it is fine, and my free play is at 1/8th of a inch on the lever. But for some reason it does not shift smooth. I thought it might be the oil. So I changed that too, and went with Motorcycle 10W40. But it is still doing it.
Looking for any and all suggestions
Thanks
Bob

Re: Grinding Gears
If you cannot adjust your clutch cable any more -then it could be worn out plates ??

Also how do I know for sure that it might even be the plates. I'm just speculating right nowI do not know for sure. I have adjusted the clutch lever to twice in different positions. I have not tried it on the block side but I will try that tonight. All I know that it grinds trying to find the gear. Mostly on the up shifts, but does it once and awhile when going into first
